How to play Tap Tennis
- Serve into the diagonal box. Your serve must land in the diagonally opposite service box. Tap ←/→ once before serving to set your aim — it sticks until you serve. Aiming at the corners is riskier and can fault.
- Rally with the arrow keys. Move with ← → ↑ ↓ and press SPACE to swing when the ball is near.
- Aim your shots. Tap ←/→ just before swinging to aim cross-court — watch for the ◀ ▶ cue. Hold ↑ for a deep drive or ↓ for a drop shot.
- Win points, games, match. Points run 15–30–40 like real tennis. Hold your nerve: first to 3 games wins the match.
Serves, faults & scoring
- Diagonal serves. Serves alternate sides and must land in the opposite service box — miss it and it's a fault. Two faults in a row hand the point to your opponent.
- Real tennis scoring. Points count 15, 30, 40, then game. Win 3 games before the CPU to take the match.
- Watch the CPU. Your opponent aims for corners and mixes up depth, so stay on your toes and don't camp in one spot.
- Out balls lose the point. Keep your shots inside the lines — long or wide means the point goes the other way.
Tips for winning the match
- Move early. Start toward the ball as soon as it leaves the CPU's racket — late movement means weak returns.
- Aim away from the CPU. Cross-court shots to the open side are the safest way to win points.
- Mix depth. A deep drive pushes the CPU back; a drop shot right after can catch it flat-footed.
- Play safe on serve. A reliable serve into the box beats a flashy one that faults — save the corners for when you're feeling it.
