How to play Tap Baseball

1. Choose your dugout. Tap Blue or Red — you're batting for the whole game either way.
2. Watch the pitch. Every pitch travels toward the strike zone box. Read its speed and movement.
3. Time your swing. Press Space on a keyboard or tap the Swing button exactly as the ball reaches the box.
4. Run out the at-bat. Balls, strikes, and outs are tracked just like real baseball. Take ball four for a walk and keep the inning alive.
5. Three outs ends the game. Your final run total is scored, and you can jump straight back in with Play Again.

Rules & scoring

• You bat only — there's no fielding. Every trip to the plate is your chance to score.
• Count matters. Strikes and balls are called on every pitch. A fourth ball means a walk and a free trip to first base.
• Runners advance around the bases as you land hits, and every runner who crosses home plate adds to your run total.
• Three outs, game over. Your score is your runs. The Best Games board keeps your top performances so you can chase your own record.

Tips for a bigger score

• Timing beats mashing. One well-timed swing is worth ten early ones — let the ball travel to the box.
• Don't chase everything. Laying off tough pitches runs the count in your favor and walks put free runners on base.
• Protect with two strikes. When the count is against you, shorten up and just make contact to stay alive.
• Learn the pitcher's rhythm. Pitch speeds vary — settle in for a few pitches before you start hunting yours.
